Meet Our Panelists:
Lani Rosales is the Chief Operating Officer at The American Genius - she co-founded the Big Ass Social Happy Hour networking event, the Remote Digital Jobs (RDJ) group, and the Austin Digital Jobs (ADJ) group. She has hosted job mixers for several years, averaging 450 attendees, and herds job seekers like tiny cats in ADJ and RDJ every day.
Emily Hawarny is a Career Counselor at Texas State University, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, and an adjunct faculty member at St. Edward’s University. She has her master’s degree in counseling from St. Edward’s University and her bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Emily also served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines from 2010-2012. She currently lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and two dogs.
Jeremy Shreve is the Founder of Executive Drafts. He and his Austin-based team of writers and career coaches have been sharpening resumes, coaching interview strategy and negotiating starting salaries for over 7 years.
Daniel Lorenzo is the Director of Marketing for Let’s Eat, Grandma, where he helps professionals land their dream jobs with better resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles. Daniel has worked personally with a wide variety of job seekers and loves showing people how to improve their writing. A musician and a Journalism graduate from the University of Denver, he is a big fan of the Mile High City and enjoys all of the coffee, hiking, and music it has to offer.
Jennifer Harrold is as a seasoned recruiter, legal maven, and all round partnerships juggernaut, and is focused on building partnerships with local Austin employers. Jennifer has spent the past 6+ years in TA recruiting/sourcing for companies such as Google and Indeed, where she has worked with thousands of candidates, created consultative relationships with hiring managers and internal stakeholders, built D&I networks, processes, and employee trainings. She holds a JD from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston where she was able to experience the world of diversity and inclusion from the foundational perspectives within social justice, civil rights and unlawful termination fellowships and clerkships during her time there. Her passion for job seeker education and awareness is contagious and her experience in creating dynamic spaces for job seekers to learn and thrive continues on as Partnerships Lead & Career Coach for GA Austin.
Jocelyn Lai's sweet-spot is launching, scaling, restructuring organizations and teams, from a talent perspective. She currently leads talent acquisition at Duolingo. Most notably, Jocelyn has played critical roles in rebranding and streamlining organizations to attract and retain talent, restructured and opened up new offices in the U.S. and Asia Pacific, and built recognized recruiting departments from the ground up. Due to her background in media planning, analytics and business development, Jocelyn takes pride in always producing business results and value from a talent-first perspective. Jocelyn is a regular public speaker and has been recognized by the American Advertising Federation, American Association of Advertising Agencies, Association of National Advertisers, The Wall Street Journal, and SXSW for her achievements. Jocelyn holds a B.S. and M.A. in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin.
